BIOGRAPHY

Debby Powell is a nature photographer and travel writer based in the high desert environment of Colorado’s beautiful western slope of The Rockies, just over the border from Utah. Over the years, Debby has traveled extensively throughout Colorado, Utah, and the western US, including Arizona, California, and the Hawaiian Islands in search of fun, adventure, and stunning portraits of Mother Earth.  She spends time visiting the National Parks and monuments in Colorado and Utah including Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, Black Canyon of The Gunnison National Park, and Utah’s “Might Five” including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Capitol Reef National Park.  She lives right across town from the beautiful Colorado National Monument, and so she visits this location fairly frequently.  Additionally, she’s visited Hovenweep National Monument, Dinosaur National Monument, and many others! 

Debby’s photos have been published in Cowboys & Indians magazine, Science of Mind magazine, and other publications and her work has been displayed at various art shows and galleries including the annual Environmental Film Festival photography show in Golden, Colorado and The Palisade Art Lovers and International Honeybee Festival art show and contest in Palisade, Colorado, where her photograph “Old Palisade Farmhouse” won the blue ribbon for photography in 2019.

Debby became a grandmother for the first time in July, 2022. Her daughters Heather and Jennifer, and her granddaughter Maryn are the light of her life.
