So today I fell down a rabbit hole so-to-speak, and today’s blog will be short and sweet. I was doing some research on the acclaimed photographer, Ernst Haas. He lived from 1921 – 1986. I probably learned about him in school, but promptly forgot about him, so when his name came up in something else I was looking at, I decided to do a little research on him myself. I looked him up online and looked at his estate’s website in which they have kept of some of his most famous works. I know this is going to sound odd, but while looking through his portfolio, I was surprised to see several of his photographs that resemble some of my photographs. (or vise versa?) Just for fun I decided to put together a small portfolio of my photos that seem to resemble some that he did back in the day. He contributed photos to many publications including Life and Vogue magazines. He also did some portrait photography of famous celebrities including Marilyn Monroe and Albert Einstein. If you would like to learn more about his life and see some of his work, here’s a link to his estate’s website: https://ernst-haas.com/site/estate.html
Following is some work of my own which I think resembles some of the photos I saw on his website, and I have categorized them as they have done his to make it easier to find and compare the images if you so desire.
